Our Extended Barn Family
At Northeastern Stables, we always say, teamwork makes the dream work.
Meet some of the incredible people that help us with our horses and our farm.
Kate Stuart
Kate Stuart began riding her junior year of high school and quickly fell in love with the sport. Just one year after her first lesson, she joined the Top Call Farm IEA team where she qualified for regionals her first season. She thoroughly enjoys equitation, and recently has taken up a particular interest in the hunter world. She is even breeding her Hanoverian mare, Heidi, this spring in hopes of getting a nice hunter baby!
Kate is the current president of the Furman University equestrian team, and loves getting to travel to IHSA shows with her teammates. Graduating from Furman in May 2021, she hopes to pursue a career in the breeding/training world. Currently, she is one of the barn helpers at Northeastern Stables, and you’ll often see her riding Erin’s horse, Oscar. Kate has been helping get Oscar back into showing shape after recovering from an injury. She is looking forward to showing him this summer!
Jenna and Josh Metz
Jenna has been working with horses for over 20 years. During that time she has gained experience riding, training, and grooming in a variety of disciplines. Most notably, she groomed for Olympian Peter Leone and top Hunter rider Louise Serio. Additionally, she’s shown through Training level Eventing and has been competitive in the Hunter, Jumper, Equitation, and Derby rings.
She and her husband Josh, founded Metz Equine, LLC in the Fall of 2017. Together they have clipped nearly 1,000 horses (and growing!) of all breeds, shapes, backgrounds, and sizes. They pride themselves on providing show-ready body clips in an efficient manner.
Jenna and Josh do a fabulous job and they are incredible people. We love having them as part of our barn family!
