For has long as I can remember, happiness is being on the back of a horse.
My joy was multiplied when I began sharing my love for horses with special needs children and witnessing the unconditional support that comes from these 1200-pound animals. Ten years of equestrian experience could not prepare me for the reactions of children with Autism, Cerebral Palsy and Rett Syndrome as they entered our barn, heard the sounds of horses and first glanced up at curious brown eyes peering over a huge nose at them.
